Paul vs Scriptures
This is for those who place Shaul (Paul) letters above Scripture! Did Paul teach that New covenant believers are not required to keep the Law?
2 Pet 3:12-17 We see here Peter is speaking to a body of believers namely Israelites and he is letting them know about lies that are being spread supposedly by Paul himself. Look at verse 14 Peter says Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you MAY be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. Verse 15 And account that the long suffering of our Master is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him has written unto you; Verse 16as also in ALL his epistles (Letters) speaking in them of these things in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are UNLEARNED and UNSTABLE twist as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their OWN DESTRUCTION. Verse 17 Peter gives a warning to the people. You therefore, beloved, seeing YOU know these things before, BEWARE lest you also being led astray with the error of the wicked, fall from YOUR OWN steadfastness. Wow if you missed that people Peter just said during his day many did not understand Paul's writings. Now we see in Verse 16 it spoke of 2 things. Epistles and Scriptures. Question? What was the Scriptures they had during that time? The answer is everything from Gen to Malachi. (in the Hebrew this is called the TaNaK) there was no animal called the New Testament because they were living it so when ever they taught about the Father and son the use Gen to Malachi. I say that to say this we have to understand in order for the Hebrews and Gentiles to be taught anything concerning they used the TaNaK (Old Testament). Let's continue in Eph 4:7-8
Here is Paul speaking to the Gentiles in Ephesus; Dig this! Verse 7 But unto everyone of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Messiah. Verse 8 Wherefore he saith; When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. Where did Paul get that from? He's writing a letter to the people but he got verse 8 from somewhere, where? Look at Psalms 68:18 It is written: Thou has ascended on high, though hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that YHWH Elohim might dwell among them. Wow Paul the one who is said to be teaching that TaNaK is bondage is quoting it right here, but let's go further. 1 Corinth 15:1-3 Moreover brethren I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received and wherein stand; By which you are saved IF you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Messiah died for our sins according to the scriptures. We see Paul writing another Letter (Epistle) this time to the people in Corinth and again he is referring to the OT. Now where did he get what he said from? Look in Yesha Yahu (Isaiah) 53:4-6 I'm not going to type it cause what I have to say is long. Now look at verses 10-12. You see Paul giving the Corinthians TaNaK concerning Yahoshua.
Now let's go back to 1 Corinth 15:4 And that he was buried and that he rose again the 3rd day according to the Scriptures. Now I think it's funny how Paul does not even consider his own letters to be used as foundational scripture. Anyway we see he mentioned Tanak again. Now where did he get that from? Go to Psalms 16:10. Now we all know that Yahoshua himself converted Shaul on his way to Damascus. So in order for Shaul to teach anything he had to be taught by Yahoshua himself right? So if Yahoshua is the Messiah and our salvation relies on him and not Paul doesn't it make sense to wonder what he taught his Talmidim (Disciples). And we know that they would not teach anything different that what they learned from the Messiah himself. Look at Matt 12:1-7 We see The Master teacher himself Yahoshua in the field with his taught ones on the Sabbath day and the Pharisees got a problem with what went down that day. 1 At that time Yahoshua went on the Sabbath day through the corn and his disciples were an hungered and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. Now we now the Pharisees questioned him why did the disciples do what was unlawful to do on Shabbat. Here is Yahoshua's answer to them 3 But he said unto them Have you not read what Dawid (David) did when he was hungered and they that went with him
4 How he entered into the House of Elohim and did eat the shew bread which was not lawful for him to eat but only for the priests. 5 Or have you not read in the Law, how that on the Sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath and are blameless? 6 But I say to you that in this place there in one greater than the Temple. 7 But if you had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless. We see our Messiah quoting Tanak also where did he get that from? Got to Numbers 28:9-10 And on the Sabbath day 2 lambs of the 1st year without spot and two tenth deals of flour for a meat offering mingled with oil and the drink offering thereof: 10 This is the burnt offering of every Sabbath, beside the continual burnt offering and his drink offering. Now got to Hosea 6:6 For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of Elohim more than burn offerings. Now we know Yahoshua new the scriptures clearly. That means his followers had to as well because he taught them. So did Yahoshua keep Sabbath? Yes he did. Did he teach from the Scriptures? Yes he did. Let's go back to Luke 4 :16-19 Now we've already seen Yahoshua in the temple on the Shabbat and he was handed the scroll or book of Isaiah and he stood up to read and this is what he read in verse 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah (Greek Esaias). And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written: The Ruach (Spirit) of YHWH is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind to set as liberty them that are bruised. Where did Yahoshua read that from in Isaiah? Look at Is 61:1-3. Now look at Isaiah 8:20 It reads to the Law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word it is because there is no light in them. What did the prophet mean in verse 20? The Hebrew for testimony is Teudah ' Pronounced' Teh who dah which means a message of correction often repeated. Now I brought this up to say this. If anyone is teaching anything other than what the word of Yah already says or even if they are twisting Paul's letters to teach lawlessness we are to have no part with them. Now let's go to Luke 24:13-32 I'm sure many of you have heard the story of Emmaus, the reason I'm bringing this up is to show how even in the NT we still must know and keep the commandments and statues in the TaNaK. Yahoshua is going to reveal that. Okay the story starts off after Yahoshua's resurrection from the grave and now he is amongst his disciples and they don' t even recognize him at 1st. Also for those who think that our new spiritual bodies will be like Yahoshua is going to clear that up as well So let look at verse I'm going to start from verse 15 And it came to pass, that while they communed (Talked not bread and wine) together and reasoned, Yahoshua himself drew near and went with them. 16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. 17 and he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as you walk, and are sad? 18 And one of them whose name was cleopas answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? 19 And He said unto them What Things And they said unto to him, Concerning Yahoshua of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before Elohim and all the people: 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death and have executed him. 21 But we trusted that it had been he, which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, today is the 3rd day since these things were done. Jump down to verse 25 Then he said to the O fools, and slow of heart to believe ALL that the prophets have spoken: 26 Ought not Messiah to have suffered theses things and to enter into his glory? 27 And beginning at Moses (Torah 1st 5 books of the Law) and ALL the prophets (Nebi'im), he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
WE see Yahoshua quoted what the TaNaK has to say also we just say Yahoshua mention 2 parts of the TaNaK The T is for the Torah the N is for Nebi'im(Prophets) soon we will see the K. Anyway looking at verse 30-35 Yahoshua dwells with them and they sit down to eat and he breaks bread just as he did at the Passover meal, He even opens the scriptures and they have a feeling that is him that was among them then he vanishes. Only to return watch verse 36 And as they thus spake Yahoshua himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto the Shalom Alekiem (Peace be unto you). But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen A spirit. 38 and He said unto them, Why are you troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me and see; for a SPIRIT hath not flesh and bones, as you see me have. Right here we see what type of bodies we will have during the resurrection. At any rate again they sat down and ate again the Yahoshua revealed something to them in verse 44 And he said unto them, These ( Gen to Malachi)are the words which I spake unto you while I was yet with you (He did not found a lawless belief system called Christianity) that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moshe, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. There you have it people the complete TaNa and finally the K (Kethubim) Writings the TaNaK. The Messiah himself revealed the TaNaK and that is what he spoke of and what he taught and what he instructed his disciples to continue to do after he was gone. Just had to let that be known. Now we know that Paul's teacher taught the law so what did Paul teach since he was taught by Messiah himself.
Acts 17:1-4 Now we know Shaul was chosen to proclaim Yahoshua to the gentiles. So verse 1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Appollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Yehudim (Jews): 2 And Paul as HIS manner was went in unto them, and three Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, Opening and alleging, that Messiah must needs have suffered and risen again from the dead; and that this Yahoshua, whom I preach unto you is Messiah. And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude and of the chief women not a few.
Now here we are in a gentile land and Paul is fellowshipping with other Israelites that have not yet accepted Yahoshua as Messiah as well as gentiles (Greeks). Question why are gentiles in the temple on the Sabbath day if Gentiles are not required to keep the law? The reason why is because whether you are Israelite by birth or conversion you must adhere to the Torah of YHWH and teaching of Yahoshua. I hope this is making sense because it is all from the very word that you read. Now look at verse 10 -12 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night un to Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Yehudim (Jews). 11 These were more noble those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honorable women which were Greeks, and of men not a few. Now to show that the NT is the Same as the OT. We see that in order for Gentiles to even be accepted by the Holy One of Israel they have to abide by the same Torah. Look at Ex 12:49 One Law shall be to him that is home born and unto the stranger (gentile) that sojourneth among you. Look at Lev 24:22 You shall have one manner of Law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country: for I am YHWH your Elohim. Numbers 15:15-16 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation AND also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as you are so shall the stranger be before YHWH. 16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.
To further show that YHWH does not change read Mal 3:6. We just saw how even the gentile must keep the law but remember we have Paul on trial here because he is accused of teaching that NT believers are not to keep the law of YHWH. Look at Acts 10 1-2; 22-28;3435 here we run into Peter again. Verse 1 There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band. (So we see he is a gentile) 2 A devout man and one that fear Elohim with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to Elohim always. 22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth El, and of good report among all the nation of Yehudim (Jews), was warned from Elohim by an Malkim (angel) to send for thee into his houses and to hear words of thee. Now verses 23-28 reveals the vision Peter had earlier on the top of the house and guess what? It did not mean we can eat any kind of animal we want to. It means that if Gentile feared Elohim they were not to be called common or unclean. Now for those who think I worship the color of my skin let me clear this up with the next verses 34-35 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that Elohim is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and WORKETH righteousness, is accepted with him. How does one work righteousness? What is righteousness? Let's go to Tehillim (Psalms) 119:142 Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, AND THY LAW IS THE TRUTH. Moving right along I wonder how many of you who have read this have come to the conclusion of whether Paul taught the Law or did not? Let's got to Acts 16:1 Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and behold, a certain disciple was there named Timotheus (You know the letters 1 and 2 Timothy), the son of a certain woman, which was a Yehudite (Jewess feminine) and believed; but his father was a Greek. So we see Timothy is half Hebrew half Greek. Let's look at 2 Tim3:14-15;16-17 Here Paul wrote a letter to Timothy and he said in his letter to him. 14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures (TaNaK) which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Messiah Yahoshua 16 ALL scripture is given by inspiration of Elohim and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction (testimony) for instruction (Torah) is righteousness. 17 That the man of Elohim may be perfect thoroughly furnished unto all good WORKS.
We just read in verse 16 that it says all scripture. Again by now we should know that all they had during that time was the TaNaK (Gen- Malachi) There was no such animal called a NT because they were living it. So we see Paul refers again to the TaNaK, Now let's see what Paul has to say about everything I've just covered. Does he believe in keeping the Law or not? Go to Acts24:14 Read the words of Shaul himself. 14 But this I confess unto thee, that after the WAY (Messianic Hebrew not Christianity) which they call heresy (cult) or sect, so worship I the Elohim of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets.
Well people there you have it Paul says that he too keeps the things spoken in TaNaK why? Because he is a Hebrew who is an Israelite and he knew that YHWH does not change his mind when he had already told us what to do and what not to do. Don't believe me believe the verses and chapters we went though and judge for yourself if the Sabbath is no longer important and if the rest of the holy days are no longer important because we know that that type of teaching does not come from Messiah nor his disciples so who does it come from? You got it the father of all lies Satan, Lucifer, the devil, Ha Satan. It all comes from him. Again I stress Isaiah 8:20
Shalom to all
2 Pet 3:12-17 We see here Peter is speaking to a body of believers namely Israelites and he is letting them know about lies that are being spread supposedly by Paul himself.
